his application activates Prepar3D v3 on a client computer by
creating a technically valid license which is accepted by the
licensing system of the local Prepar3D installation.
Just execute the file. The program asks for admin-permissions.
Without admin-permissions the activation is not possible.
After launching the program you can choose to activate any of the
3 available license models. It doesn't matter which edition you
installed. All 3 editions can be activated. Just click on the
button with the license you would like to have.
Since the generated license is accepted by Prepar3D, but NOT
by the online license verification system, access to this system
must be blocked. This is done by editing your hosts file.
The hosts-file resides in c:windowssystem32driversetc
and it basically assigns IP-Addresses to domain names.
When you choose an edition to activate and your hosts-file
doesn't contain the blocking entry, you will be asked to
add it manually or let the program add it for your.
If you want to add it manually, insert the line
127.0.0.1 secure.prepar3d.com
into your hosts file.
- Navigate to c:windowssystem32driversetc
- Right click 'hosts' and remove the write protection attribute
- Load the file into the windows editor and add the line
- Save the file and add the write protection attribute back
The generated license is valid for 100 Years from the point
of license generation. It will be void if:
- You change or format your Drive C:
- You change your primary network card or change the MAC-Address of it
- You change the name of the computer
